Justine Horton
Justine is a General Practitioner, guided by a lifelong calling to care, heal and tend. This way of being has always extended far beyond medicine, living in her role as a mother of four, in her devotion to the animals she has shared her life with, and in her work as a much-loved, top-rated Airbnb host in the Derbyshire countryside. Her presence is calm and reassuring, with a natural ability to create spaces where people feel safe, welcomed and at ease.
At Wise Women Retreats, Justine brings all of these threads together. As host and first point of contact, she listens deeply, holds individual needs with gentleness, and attends to the practical details — from rooms and food to the subtle rhythm of each stay — with care and intention. She creates a steady, grounded container in which women can soften, connect and simply be.
Miriam Grace
Miriam is a highly experienced psychotherapist, who specialises in women’s issues. She has been running workshops, groups and retreats for 35 years, and weaves together her expertise with trauma, body psychotherapy, and the transpersonal (spiritual) in guided visualisations and meditations, laughter yoga, creative and physical exercises and skilful group process facilitation. Her focus for the last 12 years has been on working with women during times of life changes.
The principles of inclusion, acceptance and compassion are central to her practice. She is a specialist and published in her work on women coming out as lesbian.
Miriam is responsible for the overall therapeutic programme and themes at Wise Women Retreats and leads twice daily group sessions in our seasonal retreats.
Anita Nathan
Anita has a special interest in meditation and deep relaxation (yoga nidra) and is constantly amazed by the power of sound therapy to bring about healing and balance.
Anita is a qualified British Wheel of Yoga teacher since 2003 and has been practising yoga since 1990. She teaches Hatha Yoga which includes both Yin and Yang practices with the aim to bring about balance. Sessions include breath work, as well as the physical yoga practice and a relaxation to finish.
Anita is also a qualified nurse, sound healing practitioner, aromatherapist, massage therapist and children’s yoga teacher.
Anita brings all her training and experience to date into a synthesis of relaxation, movement and sound healing, in bespoke classes based on the individual needs of each member of each retreat.
Gina Hinks
Gina provides reflexology treatments at the retreats. She has practised Reflexology and Homeopathy for many years as part of a lifelong interest in complementary medicine. She has many regular clients who come to her for her Reflexology skills as well as for her warm and empathic nature.
“Gina you have Magic in your fingertips. Thank you so much. I have felt like I am wading through treacle in recent months, burned out and unable to take a proper full breath. I immediately felt better after the treatments and this has continued over the days since, lighter in step and heart“
